Projectile Weapons
Unlike humans, yinrih are not accurate throwers. Wild vulpithecins prefer melee combat using their sharp iron-enriched claws as bladed weapons and their long sinewy tails as bludgeons. Rock throwing, does occasionally occur among tree dwellers, and this was also likely the case among presapient yinrih. Tree dwellers have two throwing methods: Tossing pawfuls of pebbles, usually sharp, at mid-range, aiming for sensitive parts of the face like the eyes, the wet tip of the nose, and the whiskers; and hurling larger rocks using the tail as a sling. It is notable that neither of these methods are used during hunting.
Yinrih projectile weapons stem from this usage of the tail, with one of the earliest innovations being small caudal slings that were used to extend the tail and further multiply the force applied by the tail's motion.
