The Bright Way's cavalier attitude toward death in pursuit of the Great Commandment during the Golden Age is inspired by OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush (I couldn't think of a more posh name if I tried), or at least my impression of the man when the scandal first broke–not malicious but reckless perhaps to the point of culpability.
